How the schedule works
Lovevery says its Play Kits arrive at the start of new developmental windows: every 2 months from birth to 12 months (6 kits), then every 3 months from age 1 to age 5 (4 kits a year). Each kit is named for its stage, from The Looker (weeks 0 to 12) to The Planner (months 58 to 60). Source: Lovevery: The Play Kits, checked October 12, 2026.
What's inside each kit changes over time, so we don't list contents. Lovevery's page for each kit shows the current playthings.
Is it worth it?
That depends on your budget and how you like to shop. Three things to weigh:
- The total, not the per-kit price. Run the calculator to age 2 or 3 and see the full number.
- What you'd buy anyway. Babies need some toys and books. A kit replaces some of that shopping, not all of it.
- Hand-me-downs and the library. Borrowed toys and library board books cost nothing. Check secondhand toys against CPSC recalls.
Before you subscribe, check Lovevery's current terms for skipping, pausing and cancelling, so you know how easily you can stop after the first year if you want to.
How we calculate
- Which kits: every kit whose window starts between your chosen start and stop ages.
- Total: first-year kits times the first-year price, plus later kits times the later price.
- A month: the total divided by the months you subscribe.
- Dates: each kit's starting month added to your due date.
How we cover brands. We describe Lovevery's schedule from its own site and don't test or rank toys. ByDueDate may join Lovevery's affiliate program in future; if we do, we'll disclose it above the first link. How we work.
Recall check: on October 12, 2026 we searched new CPSC recalls since September 12, 2026 for Lovevery: none found. We check every month. How we check.
